Biography

My name is Katherine Trabert and I am an independent painter, specializing in pieces around popular culture. I have graduated with my B.A. in Psychology, which I often incorporate in my work to invoke an internal cognitive response in my work through vivid colors and pleasing organic imagery. 

I am a traditional painter, with most of my work being used with gouache and acrylic paints on canvas. I have been painting with these mediums and art style for around 8 years now. I am currently based in Southern California, with all my work being produced locally. 

Although my work revolves around those who I do not know, it is to showcase the massive impact of popular culture upon individuals. I studied Women and Gender Studies during my time in college, and became enthralled by art produced during the era's of Women's Lib and the changing of Counter Culture. The theme's of these American youth led movements can be seen throughout my work, and serve to be a vital contribution to my style as an artist.
